The Iron Lady, by D. Morán
The film is set in the United Kingdom in the present days, when Margaret is an old woman, but it jumps backwards and forwards, while she remembers the most important facts of her life.
The main character of the film is Margaret Thatcher, very well played by Meryl Streep.
The film is about Margaret´s life, a humble woman who was able to become Prime Minister of England at a time when men ruled countries and women were just housewives.
The most memorable scene is, in my opinion, when she is elected as Prime Minister and arrives at her new home in Downing Street, goes out of the car and all the press is there waiting for her to take a photo with the other members of the government.
I think what makes the film good is the great interpretation of Meryl Streep, very well characterized as Margaret Thatcher.
In 2011 the film was awarded with two Oscars, best actress (Meryl Streep) and best makeup. The actress was also awarded with the Golden Globe.
Thanks a lot, David!
