Could you briefly summarize the synopsis of the film, just by watching its trailer?
The film tells the story of a young offender named Robbie. He tries to re-enter society after discovering by chance he is good at identifying whisky’s flavours. It was then when an auction appears looking for the most incredible whisky of which only three bottles exist, but nobody knows where they can be. Robbie and his friends involve in a hazardous plan to get the famous whisky.
Great, Jose, thanks a bunch!
Eliminar- Where is the film set?
ResponderEliminarThe film takes place in Scotland, obviously because of the terrible accent, the kilts, the whisky…
- What kind of youth gang, if any, is it depicting?
The gang is a common one, I mean, they steal whatever they can in the street.
- Is there a turning point in the main character’s life? If so, what is it?
After being arrested, he is sentenced to 300 hours of community pay-back.
- Could you briefly summarize the synopsis of the film, just by watching its trailer?
After being sentenced, he visits his wife or girlfriend: his baby had just been born. He visits a distillery where a girl explains what the angel's share is: every year, about two percent of spirit evaporates. He gathers with other guys in order to travel, and sell something related to whisky, a very rare one: as having a Mona Lisa in your bedroom. There is an auction where something, probably the very rare whisky, is sold by 1 million pounds. The journey continues and, after travelling in a pick-up, a couple of officers, they have to lift their kilts, I don’t Know why. The officers have a lot of fun.
Thanks a lot, Juanjo!
Eliminar1. The film set in scotland, in Glasgow city.
ResponderEliminar2. From my point of view ,the main character is depicted as an unemployed member of a youth gang which, on the other hand, it is very usual at this time.
3. Maybe, the main character has a messy life, one day he has important troubles with the law, afterwards he has a child and he admits that he must change.
4.. A youth of Glasgow has a messy life and he has important troubles with the law; then, he has a child and he admits that he must change. Then he does a whisky taste course, and he finds out that he is very good taster, soon he´ll find a good job and a new life.

When you read the title The Angel’s Share, what kind of film do you think you are about to watch? Why?
ResponderEliminarThe title rings a bell of a sort of comedy like those Xmas tale films located in New York or Chicago where someone’s weird presence solves a problem related to love, friendship or money needs.
Because of the word angel. Nonetheless, the first scene below does not fit in with the image of crowded streets, Xmas decorations and lights you can watch in the former ones.
Now watch the trailer of the film. Were you right or wrong?
Completely wrong. I could not imagine that it was the expression to describe the evaporation of alcohol when whisky is still kept in barrels.
Where is the film set?
It is set in Scotland.
What kind of youth gang, if any, is it depicting?
Some street gang similar to the Latin Kings.
They start their criminal actions with thefts on the streets and they end up into more severe activities such as asking taxes to the dealers and shop owners in the area the control as you can identify at the beginning of the trailer. Later on you can see how they tell him that jail would be safer than community works.
Is there a turning point in the main character’s life? If so, what is it?
Yes, there is. It has to do with at least, two facts, his child birth and the adult in charge of him, his tutor, who suggested funny activities (the world around whisky, e.g.) to the whole group as a complement to the duties they were sentenced in court. The main character is then aware of his ability to recognise an excellent whisky thanks to his sensitive nose. That could mean a chance to earn money and start a new life.
Could you briefly summarize the synopsis of the film, just by watching its trailer?
I did not get everything but I can make a try despite the sentences in Scotish and the fact that it is not all clarifying for the sake of surprise when you go to watch the film.
It is the story of a second chance in life.
The plot is about a boy that is sentenced to do community works to pay back for his mistakes. As a result he meets new people; and he discovers he is gifted with a very special nose. Besides he has a child.
Altogether, that makes him think about a change.
With his friends he draws up a plan to take some rare whisky to auction –like a famous painting-- and they finally managed to carry it out. We can guess many amusing and odd situations will take place meanwhile.
Thanks a bunch, Ana!
