Can you take a wild guess?

,
Sunday 26 February. Everything's ready for a new edition of the famous Oscars, but do you think you'd be able to bet on the winners?
Well, let's try! Here you are some trailers of some nominees for Best Picture; actually, these are the movies I think stand a chance, but let's see if you can take a wild guess and place a winning bet.
Comments are welcome, of course!

And, while you make up your mind and place your comments, why don't you learn a bit about The History of the Academy Awards?

  1. And my bet goes to ... (dramatic pause) War Horse!

I think the big winner will be War Horse. We have a frienship story with an animal and a big war against it. Hollywood is fan of this kind of films. And the director is Steven Spielberg. He had some good films before that, and he knows how to touch the audience feelings, perhaps in a too easy way (we can remember E.T.).

Ok, I admit I haven't seen any of this films and I roled a dice to pick one.

    1. Ok, Eugenia, Thanks a lot.
I'm voting for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, though I don't really think it is the type of picture the Academy would award an Oscar, but I hope it will get something.

  2. I’d bet for “The descendants” because I have read it has the equilibrium point between comedy and drama. Besides, it said Clooney gives great performance.

    1. Well, let's keep our fingers closed for Clooney then, though he's not really my cup of tea in this role, to tell you the truth.

  3. After watching the trailers I found The descendants interesting, and I also read good reviews about it. Another one that caught my attention it was Extremely loud and close, but I think that the principal idea has been used in many films.

Taking all the nominees for Best Picture into account I think that Hugo has a lot of possibilities to win the award. I had the opportunity to watch it this weekend and I personally believe it is a fantastic and gripping film, the plot is brilliant and also the interpretation of the actors and actresses

    1. I'm afraid we haven't been lucky this time, The Artist has taken it all this time.
