The King's Speech by Aurelio

The King's Speech is a British film based on Prince Albert, the Duke of York life's and future George VI. It's a historical film, set in the interwar period in England, a period when England has a big Empire all around the World.

The film starts when Prince Albert, played by Colin Firth, during his first speech in public, is in trouble, he stammers. In fact he can't make a good speech. After this trouble, his wife Elizabeth, played by Helena Bonham Carter, persuades him to meet Lionel Logue, played by Geoffrey Rush, who, with a big effort, helps Albert to have no troubles when he talks in public. First  Logue searches for the cause of that problem and why Albert stammers. After some events, George V dies, and his first son, David, the future Edward VIII, abdicates because he gets married to Wallis Simpson, an American divorcée. And finally Albert becomes King.

In my opinion the most memorable scene is when Albert, in fact King George VI, makes a splendid speech just before the II World War starts, a speech which is broadcasted by radio in the whole British Empire. And with the help of Logue, Albert manages to deliver the speech without any stammering.

For Albert to admit that he has a  problem and maybe his family could be the cause of that problem and to also admit the help given by Logue, could give us a view on how far it is the monarchy and the rest of the people.
